About CIIM

Consortium of Indian Industries in Malaysia (CIIM) or perhaps more aptly "Corporate India In Malaysia" was set up to be the Corporate face of India in Malaysia.

A need was felt by the Indian companies operating in Malaysia, to have a common platform to share information, opportunities, address issues, brainstorm, network and establish linkages between Indian companies and various stakeholders in the Government and Industry in Malaysia.

CII (Confederation of Indian Industries) the apex body representing Indian industry, then initiated this process and the inception of CIIM took place.

Consortium of Indian Industries in Malaysia (CIIM) or perhaps more aptly “Corporate India In Malaysia” was set up to be the Corporate face of India in Malaysia. CIIM was formally launched in Kuala Lumpur by the then Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry of India, Mr. Kamal Nath in Dec 2005 in the presence of ITC Chairman & then Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) President, Mr. Y. C. Deveshwar and many other corporate leaders and government officials

Dr.S. Jaishankar Visit to Malaysia

Few of Management Committee of the Consortium of Indian Industries in Malaysia (CIIM) had very engrossing and productive discussions with HE Dr. S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister, Government of India during his recent official visit to Malaysia.

Wide range of topics were discussed, including bilateral trade and investments, review of bilateral and regional agreements, business opportunities in India in Key sectors like renewable energy, chip manufacturing and hydrogen energy.

CIIM Golf Invitational 2023

CIIM Golf Invitational 2023 , organized by CIIM together with High Commission Of India in Malaysia to mark the 65 Years of Diplomatic relations and celebrated CIIM 15th Anniversary . The occasion was graced by the Yang di-pertuan Agong Al-Sultan AbdullahnRi ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

140+ Golfers and over 400 Diners participated for this Golf and Royal Networking dinner which took place in Tropicana GCC on 10th or March 2023.

The Minister of External Affairs of India, Dr. S. Jaishankar, visited Malaysia on March 27th, 2024, and the CIIM team had a series of productive interactions during his visit.

Dr. Jaishankar delivered a captivating speech for 30 minutes, highlighting the relationship between New India and Malaysia. He also deftly handled a wide range of questions from the Indian Diaspora. Additionally, several CIIM member companies were part of a productive CEO round-table meeting with Dr. Jaishankar. It was an insightful and engaging experience for all involved.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 27th March 2024 – In a landmark move poised to transform the startup landscapes of both Malaysia and India, India ASEAN Startup Summit (IASS) and the Consortium of Indian Industries in Malaysia (CIIM), together with their Accelerator and Investment partners Beyond4 Sdn Bhd and Kuala Lumpur Tech City Sdn Bhd, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
